Dan Roberge
Hey, Roscoe. How are you?
Roscoe Young
Good. Thanks so much.
Dan Roberge
Very good, very good. Thanks for being on the show. Who are you and what do you do? What does your company do?
Roscoe Young
Yeah, absolutely. Thanks for having me, Dan. It's great to be here. So, my name is Roscoe. I work at Charge Fuze. We are the leader in portable charging. We live in a convenience economy, where we recognize that folks aren't using their phones any less these days, and so everyone needs to stay powered up. So we have our charging stations that offer folks the opportunity to rent a portable power bank, and keep it with them while they're enjoying different events. So anywhere from a Live Nation concert, to a professional sports game, or we're here at SFC right now. So if you're doing travel baseball, travel football, volleyball, any of that where you're in the same place for the full day, you get a chance to rent one of these chargers, keep it with you, and make sure that you're powered up and never miss a moment.
Dan Roberge
That's amazing. So this is good for the team, the players themselves that are there, but also maybe the parents who who use this.
Roscoe Young
Yeah, absolutely. So the players can use it in between games, when you're on site for a full day of tournament, right? There's a lot of downtime. So you're hopping on your phone to check out social media. Stay in touch with your friends who might not be there, but also for the parents, right? It's really important that when you're watching your kids, you don't have to be tethered to a wall outlet, right? Instead of actually getting to see them out on the field, you can rent one of our chargers. It takes about less than thirty seconds to actually get through that rental flow, and then you're back in your seat, watching your kids, able to record the game, charge up your camera to charge up your phone, or whatever it may be, to make sure that, like I said, you know, you don't have to miss a moment.
Dan Roberge
And so there's some security built around the fact that once they get this charging unit, they're not just going to leave with it. So how does that work?
Roscoe Young
Yeah, absolutely. So we have a really simple flow, so folks can come up to our station, scan the QR code. They input their phone number. We text them a quick code and then from there they're, you know, authenticated, and can attach any sort of payment method, whether it's Apple Pay, Google Pay or, you know, credit or debit card.
Roscoe Young
So we have a hold on the card so then they can go and rent it. Our typical model is $5 an hour. So low barrier of entry for people who want to just be able to go grab one of these chargers. And then it actually maxes out at $20 for the first 24 hours that they use.
Dan Roberge
Okay. And then, if they let's say, come back a month later, they're remembered, and they can just keep going and use it again. Right?
Roscoe Young
Yeah. So the great thing is you only have to set up an account once with your phone number, and then we recognize you at any of our, you know, call it 7,000 stations across the United States. So whether you see us out in Vegas at MGM, Caesar's, Resorts World, something like that, or you see us at one of the professional sports stadiums where, you know, we have 85% of the pro sports teams in the country right now. So, you only have to set it up that one initial time. And then from there, you're a charged user fees, and can continue to charge up anywhere.
Dan Roberge
So what would you say is the coolest place where you have your stations?
Roscoe Young
Yeah. I mean, I think that's really hard to say which is the coolest. We do a lot of events. So we do all of Live Nation's festivals and events. We, like I said, work with 85% of professional sports teams. We also work in the NCAA. So within the world of college sports. And then, we do a lot in health care as well, where we work with about 30 plus different, health care systems. So it really all depends on, you know, what do you think is the coolest? I had the opportunity to visit one of our clients at the University of Michigan this past year to see our stations in the big house, which was an awesome event. One of our founders is actually an alum from University of Michigan, so I know that was one that we were all pretty excited about.
Dan Roberge
That's pretty cool. So now the unit you have behind you is an example of a unit, and it has advertising on it also, but how does that work?
Roscoe Young
Yeah. So this is our F-25 unit behind me. So it has 25 of these portable power banks. And as far as inventory, we also have these digital displays built on all of our different stations. So we can do a lot of great things when it comes to advertising. So for this event, we're running some in-house content for SFC. But out in the world, we also sell the digital space on our units. Whether it's through direct media buys, sponsorship, activations, or any different way. So a number of different ways. So there's a lot that we can do. We can play static images. We can play videos on here. But it's a really creative way for brands to be able to interact with users at the point of utility.
Dan Roberge
And there's revenue share in certain instances with the facility?
Roscoe Young
Yeah, absolutely. So it's a way to, you know, generate some additional revenue, not just from the charging, but also from utilizing those screens, those locations. So there's multiple different streams of revenue that that come from just having this one unit on site, at a venue.
Dan Roberge
Amazing. Well, thank you very much for, talking with us. That was really, really interesting. Where do people find out more if they want to get a unit at their site?
Roscoe Young
Yeah, absolutely. So you can check us out at chargefuze.com. Also fuzetechnology.com. And you can take a look at the various units that we have. We have a whole fleet of units that fit not just sports stadiums, but even down to mom and pop shops, or bars and restaurants. So we have a lot of versatile units, and there's a lot of cool stuff that we can do with it. Whether you're interested in the media side of it as well, you can check us out at, adfuze.com where you can learn more about purchasing some of our digital inventory.
Dan Roberge
So amazing. Well, thank you very much.
Roscoe Young
Thanks, Dan.
