Dan Roberge
Ashton, nice to meet you. Thank you for joining us. What do you do?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely, yes. Pleasure to meet you as well. So we're with Uneekor. We specialize in launch monitor and simulation technology. On the golf side. Any course play, practice, all of those different elements.
Dan Roberge
Okay, so what is made up of the actual unit? So there's a reader of your swing, right. There's like a digital reader. How does that work?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. Yes. Our launch monitor technology ranges anywhere from our ground base units that sit beside the ball, take pictures of the ball as it's hit, gives you all your data from backspin, spin axis, all of those different elements are extremely accurate. And then that ranges all the way up to our overhead launch monitor technology, which is great from a seamless play standpoint. Right and left handed golfers, that dual dexterity element, all of those things are really cool on the overhead units.
Dan Roberge
Okay, so the ones that are at the ground level, if you've got a left handed golfer and a right handed, you have to switch?
Ashton Opperman
Exactly. Yep. Yeah. So those are going to be great if somebody knows that it's primarily one dexterity. So that single dexterity use of just right or left handed golfers, but also the portability aspect. So being able to if they want to take it out to the driving range and see how far they're hitting the ball, they can do that.
Dan Roberge
Oh really?
Ashton Opperman
And then also bring it indoors, and have the full simulation aspect as well.
Dan Roberge
So are they self-powered, like battery recharged?
Ashton Opperman
Yep. Yes. Our mini unit sits on the ground. That one's for battery powered. So once on a full charge, it can last up to eight hours. On a full charge. It's a dual camera system, so it takes thousands of pictures of the ball, and then it can tell exactly what it's doing and all of that. And that's done through our dimple optics technology. So it tracks the dimple pattern on a golf ball. It knows exactly which way it's going.
Dan Roberge
Is it cameras, or lasers, or combinations?
Ashton Opperman
So infrared cameras. So high speed, infrared cameras. Yeah.
Dan Roberge
Amazing. Because the swing, what's the speed of a club?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. So, yeah, you can look at ranges from amateur golfers, all the way up to tour level players that are hitting 200 plus ball speed, and all of that, which is crazy.
Dan Roberge
Now, I know they recently had a tournament with all simulated golf.
Ashton Opperman
Yeah. The TTL. Yep. Absolutely. That's been huge for the sport as a whole. Especially simulation, as you're seeing it kind of take off. That's been really entertaining and fun to watch, and see people getting into it. But one of the biggest things is, it's awesome with simulation, it really can tailor to a wide variety of players. So somebody from a beginner, all the way up to an aspiring tour pro, or even at that highest level.
Dan Roberge
So yeah. So do people use it at home? Or do they use it just in these kind of commercial environments? Like, what's the difference?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. So one of the biggest goals with Uneekor is to make it accessible for everyone. So if somebody is wanting to put this in a garage or a basement, and have the ability to make swings year round, they can do it. But then we've seen massive success, on the other side of that, with commercial applications, restaurants, sports facilities, and all of that.
Dan Roberge
And so are they connected to the Internet, or how do they work for downloading the courses and so on?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. Yeah. Great question. So all of our software is we've got our kind of in-house software, that's great for course play. If you're wanting to play Pebble Beach, or something like that, you can do that through our software. But then we also have what we call an open API platform. So if you want to use any other software out there, there's different popular options. They can go with that too, if they want access to different things. So we kind of interface in a couple different ways.
Dan Roberge
And so do you provide the whole bay as well where they hit the ball into?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. Yep. Yeah. So we can do the full entire suite. If you also want the enclosure, the turf, all of that, to make it a full package. Or if somebody just wants to start off with a launch monitor and a net, they can do that too.
Dan Roberge
And what's the minimum amount of space you would say somebody needs if they want to put that in their house?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. So for a ground unit, what's really nice with the ground units is that if you've got enough space to swing a club, you can really make that that solution work. So a lot of times we just tell people, go make a couple swings where you want to put it, see if you feel comfortable, and then we can tailor a solution to fit that space. On the commercial side, we would look at something a little bit closer to 13ft wide, about 15ft of depth, and then ceiling height around 10 or 11ft is kind of optimal, for those commercial locations. It fits the widest range of players, and just makes for a comfortable environment that way.
Dan Roberge
And then it just projects the course onto the screen that you're hitting into?
Ashton Opperman
Exactly.
Dan Roberge
So one question, though, I've always wondered about this is, how do you put?
Ashton Opperman
So we get that one a lot. And the putting is really good, especially for an optical system like ours. You know, just taking pictures of the ball right at the point of impact and that first couple feet. And so putting is really accurate with that. And we actually have what's called our club optics video. That's a slow motion replay of the point of impact. So you can actually see what the putter face looks like. It's the point at which it hits the ball. And that first couple feet that it's rolling to determine if it was offline, and all of that. So it's that accuracy.
Dan Roberge
That's incredible. Well where do people find out more about getting some of this?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. So you can visit us at Uneekor.com. To just kind of check us out, and contact us through that form. But yeah, there's like I said a wide range of solutions that can fit any budget, and anybody's specific situation.
Dan Roberge
Do you ship throughout the US?
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely, and in Canada.
Dan Roberge
I'll check it out for sure. Awesome.
Ashton Opperman
That's great.
Dan Roberge
Well, thanks for talking to us.
Ashton Opperman
Absolutely. Thank you.
